About
BREADtrust is a charity that works in strategic partnerships with churches in Ukraine and Zambia to provide practical support for the poorest of communities. It does this through hands on and sustainable projects run by people in their communities for their communities.
Ukraine
BREADtrust works with churches across the whole of Ukraine. These churches and the humanitarian projects they support are seriously being affected by the current war (2022) and the previous conflict in the East of the country (2014). The need in Ukraine is more serious than ever and we are working with our partners to develop fresh ways to serve the poor in these very challenging times.
Zambia
The landlocked country of Zambia located in Southern Africa is one the poorest countries in the world. According to the World Food Programme, 14.3% of the adult population are living with HIV resulting in 1 in 5 children being orphaned. Due to intermittent drought and a missing generation of people (due to HIV) food insecurity is a reoccurring fact of life for 350,000 people in Zambia. These huge societal challenges are being met by local churches addressing issues such as Food Insecurity in sustainable and transformational ways.
Pakistan
In 2024, BREADtrust launched a Church and Community Transformation (CCT) Project in a disadvantaged area of Rawalpindi. We seek to support churches as they offer social support and educational opportunities to the poor in their local community, reaching more community members with the love of Christ as shown through the local church.
